Would it be against the rules to intrude the amp by sticking something into it? Not down into the chute, but maybe by resting a plexiglass panel against the inside. Not much clarification about this is in the manuel.
You cannot purposely detach things off your robot.
Can’t use a note do it.
If an opposing robot hits you in their zone it would be a penalty.
I think those rules pretty much rule it out.
G411 rules out anything but momentary contact with the chute.
I don’t read the OP as detaching parts.
You’re looking for G411, specifically part A, as the inside of the AMP is outside of the field border:
G411 *ROBOTS must be safe. A ROBOT may not pose undue hazards to humans, ARENA elements, or other ROBOTS in the following ways:
A. the ROBOT or anything it CONTROLS, e.g. a NOTE, contacts anything outside the FIELD (except for MOMENTARY contact inside the CHUTE),
Note that the CHUTE is part of the human player station, not the AMP.
I think I misunderstood by “Intrude” I thought OP was trying to be disruptive to the opposing alliance. If it is just having piece of your robot protruding into the opening of the amp when scoring I think that is legal based on how the field boundary is drawn in 5-2.
This should be marked as the solution.
That might be a first - in every other game I can remember, scoring locations that were outside of the guardrails like that have been considered outside of the field. Thanks for pointing that out!
Sorry that on me, could’ve been more clear with my question.
