Inventor 5 Dimension Help

Hey Everyone…:frowning:

I’ve been trying to teach myself Inventor for the past few days, and I seem to be fairly competant (unlike my spelling). However, I’ve hit something of a slump…

For a few days, whenever I print a drawing of our robot, the dimensions are just…TINY!

I’ve tried the help file, which suggests to go to the Format > Dimension Style menu. My problem arises that I cannot seem to FIND the Dimension menu. Why is that? I really need to make the dimensions visilble, or its a semi-useless tool.

Thanks everyone!

can you elaborate a bit more?

thanks

Well, its something of a moot point now, but I’d origionally tried to print things, and I wasn’t able to re-size the dimensions. This means that when i printed a picture of our robot’s base (30x36in) i was entirely unable to SEE the dimentions, because they were really small. I’ve since started using 3d AutoCAD so its not a problem that continues to be of concern, but its slightly annoying. The dimensions are too tiny to be legible, but only when printed. The help file says to use the dimension menu, but there isn’t one…

ThankS!

Brad

Heres what u do…

go to format …dimension styles and make a new dimension style and save as what you want…

then go to format…standards and select your new dimension style

THERE YOU GO…you have new dimension style

The problem comes when you scale things down. For printing I assume that you use “size to fit” and so it not only scales down the drawing, but everything else it prints. A solution? I don’t know. I think all you can do it where you format the demensions you just make it huge.

Get a printer with a roll of paper and print out a one to one scale drawing.
