Invictus 3593 Website Release

Our new website, including mobile optimization, is officially *up and running *at invictus3593.com!

Post any errors or anything that you find wrong with the site here and we’ll fix it as soon as we can.

In Chrome, running on windows 7, all I see is a blank screen. (the favicon is pretty nice, though)

Looks good on OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion with Firefox.

Being nitpicky, but there is no ‘the’ in ‘For Inspiration and Recognition…’.

See here.

Nice website.

Looks great, I really like the continuousness of the color scheme.

Though it did take a while to load; maybe because of the multiple slideshows?

Nice. The request goes through quickly but the website takes a few seconds to load. The opposite of my website (Long request, Small download time), but I am using only a 768kbps upstream bandwidth :frowning:

Looks like you might be using PHP. If so, you might want to try PHP-APC to precompile the source into bytecode. your code may execute smoother!

I love the design, and black is my favorite background color, the reason why my site has black as the background color!

Thank you guys for the Feedback!

Our site does load a little slowly, I believe it is because of the javascript running on the page as well as the slideshows.

On the topic opf the site not loading for Chrome on Windows 7, that’s what we use to test the site and get on GoDaddy to work on it; you may have to let it load for a bit to get everything loaded, nothing will display correctly unless it’s all loaded first:/

We will remove “The” in the FIRST title, thanks for the catch!

EDIT: Everything mentioned above should be fixed (minus the speed:/)!

Great site! You guys did a great job  How is Wix to work with? I know most teams choose Drupal, Joomla!, or Wordpress to power the backend. I used the latter for myteam’s site that I developed last year. Another thing like mentioned above, is that it loads odd. I’m at a university, but you always want to think that the people who are viewing your site on a dsl connection.

Nine site! I like the design. However, for the images, you should have a PHP script thumbnail the pictures so it doesn’t take ten seconds to load. Also, a lot of teams (like us) use Google Sites. They aren’t very powerful, but get the job done and are free or inexpensive.

It didn’t take horribly long for me to load, but it still wasn’t quick. I like the layout–as a design geek, it’s very clean and pleasing to the eye. Also, give your photo person a pat on the back – they’re all excellent photos.

FYI
The Kick Off Countdown on your team’s website is 20 days off.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

**runneals **- Wix is great to work with design-wise, though we did not pay to transfer their site over to ours XD we actually have to save the wix page, remove the ads and there’s a large script we have to remove that keeps it from displaying anything when the ads are gone. All-in-all, it is a hassle to update things, but the result is totally worth it.

yash101- could you point me to a *tutorial *for that? I may or may not use it, as it’s all in place already, but it would be good to know!

TheCascadeKid- thanks! Actually 95% of our photos were done by a couple of the parents of team members! They showed up with nice cameras and just went nuts; what’s on the site isn’t half of what we still have on a drive somewhere :ahh:
