Hi, I am the electrical person who is assigned to wire the IR sensor, Now i know that 10 wire ribbon goes on the black output starting from brown as in pin 1. I saw the video and it said the first 1or 2 are connected to 12 volt and 3or 4 is connected to ground. What the problem with me is,They also showed the pwms getting wired and inserted in digital input 1-4, also how to join pwms to the 5-8 wire ribbons. Also, I dun know what is the use of the white 6 pin connector on the centre right side. It would be Great if someone would give step by step procedure.
Please help as soon as possible.
P.S: We dont have mentors, and im the only person who is senior on the team.
Thankx in advance
Ignore the white connector. It is used by the manufacturer for loading the firmware on the board’s microprocessor.
If you have to ask how to connect two wires together, you probably aren’t comfortable soldering and applying heat-shrink tubing. The other immediate option is to use the pale green Direct Mount Terminal Strips from AutomationDirect that came in the Kit Of Parts. Remove the insulation from the ends of the wires, insert them in the holes, and tighten the screws. You can cut the strips to keep only as many terminals as you need.
We used the Direct Mount Terminal Strips that Alan was talking about. We used PWM wires for our IR board. They can be attached to the direct mount and then plugged into the Digital I/O on the RC.
The white wires are for the four signals that come out of the board. Pins 5, 6, 7, and 8. The red wires on the PWMs are positive (5V) and the black are negative. The red and black can all be wired into the corresponding parts of the direct mount terminal strips.
We also wired the power for our board through the 20 amp breaker panel. We will be putting it on a spike later for quick learning.
