Will IRI be running the old Open Mesh radios or the new VH ones used at champs?

We are not sure yet. We are working details to see if we can use the new radios and what field changes are required. Doing this would require all teams to have the new radio - you can’t mix them.

It appears there is something wrong with the website/link?

The link worked for me. The application period will end late Monday night / early Tuesday morning. Please reply if you are still having an issue.

You better get it figured out and get in this year! No weddings or other excuses this time, right?

It would be awesome to play with you guys again!

I like the potential of a smaller IRI. When we had 48 teams a couple of years ago it was pretty nice queuing 48 teams. Let’s try that again!

If you get 3 more you could do 16 alliances of 4 teams like at Battlecry!

29 playoff matches is a long Saturday afternoon. Especially when you’re doing a 10+ hour drive home afterwards.

Very fair point, fun but for a event like IRI it more on the competitive side of things less of the “fool around and try stuff” side.

16 teams, be every time someone gets knocked out, the winner gets to pick one team from the knocked-out alliance to join theirs permanently.

I really hope to see 1987 at IRI after they were one of the best teams to not qualify for the championship.

–They ranked in the top 5 in each of their 3 regionals.
–At Central Missouri, we considered them for 1st overall pick. They made several smart decisions leading a competitive alliance to the finals
– At Heartland they were the 1st overall pick and finished 3rd
– At Greater KC, they were the 2nd overall pick (behind World Champion 4522) and finished 3rd.
– 38.8 pre-championship EPA (32nd of those who applied)
–Attended IRI every year post-covid, making playoff each year
