Additionally - photos that highlight the following:
Custom manufactured parts
CNC’d parts and systems
Cool materials usage
Macro shots of neat wheels and gearboxes
Unique design elements
Detailed shots of intake mechanisms
Shooter mechanisms
Turret systems
I’d like to have a solid archive of these kinds of photos to update outdated training presentations. Please let me know if you’ll be taking good, clear, high quality photos of robots and I’ll make sure they are aggregated somewhere for public consumption.
Spectrum will putting together a gallery to help with this and thanks for the idea Akash we’ll start tagging specific mechanisms and build up galleries for shooters, gear intakes, etc.
Anyone that wants to contribute IRI photos can upload them to this link. Spectrum will then tag items in the coming weeks with team numbers and mechanisms.
I messaged Akash this, but I’ll also post it here- I’ll be there with some 20/5254 mentors to spectate and I’ll take some pictures (likely from my phone) while I’m there too. If anyone has anything in particular they want to see, feel free to message me.
I’ll try to upload them to this link, thanks, Allen!
This one has a few pics from Houston Champs/SoCal Regional Events. If people would like, I can put these in the link you shared or other people can add to this one.
Do you mind taking the photos linked in that thread and adding them to Allen’s archive?
The biggest problem with subsystem and mechanism archives in the past has been that they are not kept up to date by the folks who decide to create a central archive. FIRST Canada had a great archive a few years back but no longer has it on their website.
I had been collecting images for a game that I am creating and uploaded 116 of them to the non-IRI page. Image names are formatted as “teamnumber”“mechanism”-“image credit”.png. Some of the images were intended to be cropped, so they may be of less use to you. Hope this helps and won’t be too much to figure out! I am looking forward to the final product and would be willing to help out if there was need.
