Last year we all successfully implemented an IRI web hug - a meet and greet of the people who roam these forums at the IRI. There are around ten people there last year and we all enjoyed. Keeping with the spirit, I am planning on hosting another one this year in the same place. If you can’t find the place look for me or anyone with the name tag below at the event for more info. Also if the IRI pit announcer will let us, we will announce it into the pits again this year!
That said, this year I would like to ask each and every one of you to make a name tag. What that requires is taking a screenshot of your computer (Print Scrn button on keyboard) and pasting it into paint or photoshop and cropping it. Then printing it out on paper or sticker and fastening it to yourself so others can recognize you easily so you can meet the people who you speak with as well as be sought out by people who would like to speak with you. You must find me to get your name tag before lunch. Last year I got tired of waiting for everyone, so i went around finding them.
I need PM’s this year, last year some people just copy/pasted the list I put up and I didn’t realize it until later. I have the master list on my computer, so if I don’t get a pm, I cannot guarantee you will get one.
You must be at the webhug. If I forget to go (like last year ), then you are off the hook.
3.5. Please wear them when you get them so if people need to find you to ask where the webhug is, they will know who to ask.
Once you send the email, indicate if you want me to take a screen shot of what you have at the moment, or if you want me to wait. I can only wait until the Wednesday before (6pm), that’s the day I print.
If you don’t follow these conditions, I will give you a nasty snarl. :mad:
P.S. I print them on the highest quality sticker paper that staples has to offer/the cheapest sticker paper i can find.
Just a suggestion here -
it would be helpful if folks would put up some WAIs in CD if they don’t have any in their profile. That way, we can connect a face with a name. Often, the CD username can be confusing and a photo helps. Besides, it’s nice to see. If you are shy, be brave. If you are lazy, just do it.
I can’t go:( . Its at five on Friday, and I have to leave earlier than that to go to a band competition, the first one of the season. I’ll be flayed alive if I’m not there. I’m devastated. I’ll be there all day Saturday, though!! Have fun, everybody.
UPDATE: Unless you specify, due to the fact that I am a pro at crastinating, I will just get the screen shot on Wednesday.
