Is anyone already using a GIS and/or Tableau for Crescendo?

(I’m trying to figure out how to apply GIS technologies to FRC in time for GRC.) AI heatmaps also apply.

I’m assuming you’re talking Geographic Information Systems, correct?
This piqued my interest, as my day job is supporting enterprise GIS for various customers
You need to focus on developing 2 things, visualizations and a method to collect the data. Maybe with your 2 week timeline, I would start small. Maybe look at capturing where teams start during auto and where they end auto at.

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend taking a look at the visualization from Zebra (sadly they’re rebuilding their kits so hopefully there will be more events in the future they cover, but this provides you with some data to play around with):
Semis 1 Match 15 - Einstein Field 2022 - The Blue Alliance (scroll to the bottom)
This match provides some good data that you could develop a visualization around (5804 is playing hard defense on 5940).
If you do an inspect, you can see the X,Y and Time in an array for each team.

Thank you!! I’ve been trying to figure out how to actually put our qualitative data to use in an efficient way, and I think a GIS could be the solution since a lot of the data could be presented visually.

This is a similar project I’ve been drafting up: Mapping Robot Paths in Robotics Competitions with Computer Vision
