Is it just me or.......

I look around at all of the regional matches and notice that the game is not really competitve and hard, i guess. I mean you can look at any of the regionals and see that if a team has a ramp bot all they do is get on the ramp and win the game. its not even fun because they dont even try to score tubes. In the end it gets boring and pretty much pointless.

I was just looking for replies to see how people really think about how the matches and regionals are going.

i would agree for the qualification matches, but when the elimination matches came around, the best of the best were out there. then, the game was showed how it was supposed to be played. at least this is how it was at vcu.

While there were alliances did not score much the game wasn’t any less exciting. In many of our matches at NJ we were pitted against cappers and rampers, yes, they could simply fly up their ramp and sit the whole match, yet we could put up more then enough tubes to make up for that 60 points, not to mention ramps on our own alliance. So, teams played defence on us and our alliance, which leads to low scores for the defending alliance if they do not get up on their ramps, which they usually didn’t, yet each match was a fight.

Some matches the scores on both alliances were very low because of how tight the defense was, we had one match we won 4 - 0 and one that we tied 4 - 4 both matches we fought very hard to get that score. If we would have lost that match where we tied, we would not of had first seed, and our perfect alliance would have probably not been formed.

Atleast that is how it was at the NJ regional, in other webcasted regionals, and during practice matches on Thursday, I saw what you mean. Yet, during our matches at NJ this was not the case.

Hasn’t this issue been beaten to death in the Week 1 Reaction thread?

i dont think that was the case at LA regional. there was at maximum 15 teams that had ramps and even if they get deployed not many teams went up because people were too busy scoring until the end.

Its just you.

Attend a regional in the midwest and you’ll see competition and difficulty, as im sure you will in most places.

Ditto for Florida.

:]

It wasn’t this way at pittsburg in the elims and some of the qualifying. Defense was tight and STRONG.
Ramps weren’t deployed early in the match, but the ramp bots, which didn’t tip easily, would stop the other teams hangers. Then, with 30 seconds left, they would deploy, and one bot would climb, then if possible, at the last second the other one would get on. But scores were consistently high, and the ramps weren’t like “lol HAX!”.

It was a really good competition.
