Is my cRIO completely broken!?

After several successful years with our cRIO, we cannot establish a simple direct Ethernet connection from our programming computer to our cRIO. The Ethernet ports on the cRIO are not lighting up anymore, and we cannot ping 10.13.51.2 from any computer with a direct connection or through the bridge. Our Robot Signal Light never turns on. We have tried booting into safe mode with no results. We cannot reimage the cRIO because we cannot establish any kind of connection. Can anyone help us?

I think it should be 10.13.51.4 but I am not so sure.

Is the power LED on the cRIO on?

Have you tried sticking a Ethernet cord from port 1 from the crio to a laptop?

Open it up and vacuum up all the foreign debris that has probably fallen in to the housing through the various port openings.

I’ve seen similar symptoms on a cRIO, and all it needed was a good cleaning :o .

Check to make sure you have 24 volts at the cRIO power input. If you do, and no power light is on, call our application engineers at 866-511-6285. They will have you test a few things. If the cRIO fuse is blown, and we need to RMA the unit, we will send you a replacement immediately.

We tried ping 10.13.51.4 and we got Reply from 10.13.51.9: Destination Host Unreachable.
The power LED on the cRIO is not on, and we have tried using an Ethernet cable to go directly from port 1 to the laptop.

Aluminum chaff does have a way of going where you wish it didn’t, but as Doug mentioned, please verify the power inputs to the cRIO. I myself have personally carted a new cRIO to DC in my suit case only to discover that is was a bad power connection and the cRIO was fine.

If it doesn’t respond to a 24V input, call NI support.
