Is there a size regulation for the pit area if we wanted to put up a banner

We wanted to put up a banner in our pit and were wondering if there was a size limit

I dont think so as long as it fits in your pit area and not another teams

are the pits a certain size, or would it just go by where they are held, maybe some are larger at other regionals…
if anyone knows, i sure dont, we are a rookie team

At Nationals, the pit sizes are usually 10 ft. x 10 ft.

At Regionals, they usually are smaller. Coordinators try to get 10x10… but sometimes it’s more like 8x8.

I would think that if your banner is not over 8 ft. wide, you should be ok.

I think that the pits at VCU were even smaller that 8 ft. If I were you I would go with maybe 6 ft or so (just a guess-timate). I remember, though, that there were teams with banners over their pits at VCU, you could also hope that they post and tell you what their dimensions were.

It really depends on the event places. I remember going to Silicon Valley regional, and Southern California regional where the pit area doesn’t have barrier between rows, so there’s no wall space to hang the banner up.

When that happen, you can only find spaces in the stands to put the banner up, usually the fences in front of the front row of stands. In that case, there aren’t really a limited size you can use.

Also, you can probably hang your banner at any empty wall space you can get. Make sure you ask the FIRST staff at the event.

Mean while, the only size limit is your pit area size…

A few years back at KSC they had everybody (admittedly that was a smaller number then) crammed into this small room at the very farthest corner of the education building. (my memory is failing me but I’d guess that it was atleast 400-500 ft away, most of that through hallways) Most teams decided to leave their robots behind the stage unless they had repairs to make and even then alot of repairs were made back there because it was such a hassle to get in and out of the pits. What a nightmare.
