Is there a way to make the mk4i swerve module have a faster gear ratio (faster than L3)? Looking open field this year and the new motor options available (Kraken X60 and NEO Vortex) it seems like the L3 gear ratio will not be “fast enough” this season. Are there any options to achive the L4 ratio SDS offers or faster using the mk4i module?

Buy the L4 gear kit from SDS. And pay attention to the warnings: small and light robot is your friend with that setup.

If you are already running L3 there is no way to get to a higher ratio because of size constraints. (Unless you make a custom model)

That leaves motors as the only option, check out SDS’s website- the Krakens and the Vortexes are the best motors to have.

L4 will not work with mk4i.

There are a few designs out there by other teams that use a Neo 550 for steering to save space but I haven’t seen any successful uses of a custom mk4i.

For faster than L3, with Mk4i, there’s this. Uses L3 (or any gearing really) and changes the first stage pinion to 16T to get a ~14% speed increase.
