I have this older motor and I am wondering if it is still legal. If not, I am wondering if the encoder on the back of it is either compatible with 775pro’s or redlines that are legal. Here are some pictures:

No, model number 2971 is not legal per R27
See Section 9.6, R27 in the FIRST game manual for the complete legal motor listing.
The part number 2971 is a combination of the gearbox and motor. The motor by itself is part number 2161, which is legal.
Oh whoops my bad
On first look it doesn’t seem to be on the allowed motor list. But I cannot read the actual part number of the motor. I would call AndyMark and see if it crosses over to an allowed motor. If so I would ask for something in writing.
