Is this possible with long encoder runs?

Hello

I was wondering if this is possible because a ribbon cable of such a long length isn’t feasible.

Talon SRX > Encoder Breakout > Channel A/B PWR GND > Encoder Breakout > Mag Encoder

I’m curious. How long is this run? CTRE offers 10 feet long kits for the gadgeteer ribbon cables.

I’m not sure I understand what you mean by aggressive. Is 10 feet not sufficient?

Does the ribbon cable go into the SRX? If so a method many teams use including mine is placing the talon on the 3rd stage. Yes you have to run PDB and CAN bus wires to the 3rd stage but the ribbon cable length is small.

Another option is I feel like I’ve seen a data cable to ethernet converter floating around on CD. I may be wrong but I feel like 195 may have been using it? I know it’s used for long runs of data cable to prevent signal loss.

We have this exact cable run on our bot. Much easier to snake a 10 wire cable through our lift 2x1 and cable carrier than a ribbon cable. We have several other sensors in that 10 wire, like the forward/reverse limit switches for our hatch cross slide.
