I have read many posts saying that this rule isn’t fair to rookies and that rule isn’t fair to rookies.
I have nothing against rookie teams heck I welcome them I want to see the FIRST Community GROW.
Anyway back to the subject everyone seems to be complaining about some rules not being fair to the rookies. Well if you look at it this way every year the challange gets harder and harder so the veteran teams don’t get board with it. It is difficult for them (the vets) to build a machine for a new challenge year to year. I can imagine how difficult it must be for a rookie team to build one of there own and have a chance, it has been done and I have seen some excellent machines come from rookie teams, but if they keep making the challenge tougher so the vets don’t get board and move on will it make it so rookies will only last one season and then stop because it was too hard for them??? Maybe it is time for some division type levels ie. Rookie, Amature, Veteran???
What do you think?

It doesn’t matter. The only thing extra for the veteran teams is their experience with it. Everything else is new.
If it is unfair to rookies, it is unfair to everyone.
Each year EVERYONE is presented with the SAME challenge. SAME kit o’ parts. SAME budget. Differences? Sponsors and experience. Both do help (esp. the sponsors), but experience in FIRST is not a deciding factor at all, just a small extra boost (IMNSHO).

I have to agree that the team that have been in the compition before has a bit of an edge. I mean we knew before the season even started what our drive train was going to be.
