Jaguar is unresponsive

We are having some difficulties with our programming and the brains/motors to our robot. We finally got our computer to talk to our cRIO and the programming is working (eh…) but our Jaguars are unresponsive. They are blinking yellow/orange (its hard to really tell the color) and the motors wont run when we use the joystick. we are just trying the arcade drive example to test and see if its working, and it isnt. any help/advice is apreciated. thank you.

PS: I am only a programmer, so if theres any problem with wiring that you can suggest, I can only give so much information and understand so much with our electritian not here.

Try flipping the three colored wire around. We moved ours from the table top to the robot and one of them got flipped around. Only took us an hour to figure it out:mad: We are rookies so that is all we have for you. Good Luck

First, you have to make sure the PWM wires (A PWM wire is a red wire, black wire, and white wire held together by an adapter at each end) are connected to the Jaguars!

That’s where a PWM wire is supposed to be connected to on each Jaguar. If there isn’t one there, there needs to be one connected to each Jaguar and a corresponding port on the Digital Sidecar. If there’s one already there, follow HoneyBadger4260’s advice.

I hope this helps and good luck!

our PWM cable is orange, red and brown, I believe. unless that’s a different cable entirely. but that is whats hooked up from the sidecar to the jaguar. and weve tried honeybadger4360’s advice. nothing happened. Do we have the wrong cable or something?

Have you started the Driver Station software and enabled the robot? If you have done this, then I would also check to see if your DB37 cable is fixed according to this link. Remember to also put in your team number within the Driver Station so it can correctly assign an IP.

we have started the Driver Station and enabled the robot, I believe. And i checked the cable from the cRIO to the Sidecar. It is correct. Any other adivce would be nice, if there is anything left.

I will be posting pictures of what we have so far as far as electrical or hardware and whatnot. so you can better see what is wrong.
