For the past week or so I’ve had server problems updating the older model of the Jaguar and now I’ve narrowed it down to a problem either with the Jaguar itself or the software they give us to update the firmware with. I have checked all my connections and even replace all wires. The computer will say it’s detecting the device and the device will indicate that it is connected, I will try to assign each box it’s own ID and it says that it accepted the change but then i won’t be able to select the device for the menu. I’m not sure what to do so I am very open to suggestions. Anything will help. And yes, This is my first year and first time ever working with electronics.
After assigning a CANID, sometimes you have to quit and relaunch the application to see the Jaguar with the new CANID. However, the new CANID takes, so this only may happen once. After the CANID is updated, you should be able to update the firmware if needed.
Ya, I tried that several times and it didn’t work. Whenever I then try to up date the firmware it gives me the error of unable to connect to boot loader.
Which Jaguars are you using; gray/tan, black, both?
Do you have multiple Jaguars on the network at the same time?
What does the LED indicate during the different stages of trying to update the firmware? (at powerup, when connected to BDC-COMM, when assigning unique IDs, when attempting a firmware update, etc.)
If there are multiple Jaguars on the same network with the same ID number, weird things can happen. Be sure that you don’t have any duplicate IDs on the network by assigning unique IDs one at a time to all of your Jaguars.
