Hello, all, and happy Kickoff!

As of this year, all of the content on the site has been reorganized and consolidated to have just one webpage per game. So, all the resources for this game can be found at frc20.jaredhk.com!

Here is what is available:

  • The scoring calculator will allow you to calculate potential point values of the game. It will be offered in three formats: (1) Google Sheets - best for online usage. You will need to make a new copy when updates are published. [COMING SOON] (2) Excel - best for offline download. Excel required. You will need to redownload when there are updates. [COMING SOON] (3) Use on site - this doesn’t require updates or downloads but does require an internet connection and may not work in all browsers - use with caution.
  • A multiple choice game test will be offered in two formats. First is aGoogle Forms version which will provide you a grade and a link you can send to coaches/mentors with your score. The other option is a [COMING SOON] Kahoot! quiz which will allow teams to run their own rules competition.

EDIT: The link for the game test was wrong but has since been corrected.

It seems like the final question has an issue. In the updated manual, it shows the Shield Generator as being roughly 14ft by 15ft, but yours has roughly 13ft by 14ft. Maybe this is one of the issues from the older manual?

Yep. An old version the manual had the dimensions differently. I’ve adjusted the options accordingly. Thanks.

An update on Kahoot!:
Since last year, Kahoot! has updated their pricing structure. Under the free plan, I can no longer share it publicly. I’m reaching out to Kahoot! to see if we can work towards a solution. In the mean time, if you’d like the Kahoot!, DM me your Kahoot! username. Thanks for understanding!

Kahoot! is now avalible at frc20.jaredhk.com. Check it out!

Hi all,

A quick note to the let you know that the issue with Kahoot! has been solved.

If you are looking for a fun, team-wide activity, consider playing Kahoot! to learn the rules. Here’s how it works:

  1. A mentor (or captain) starts a game using the button/link on frc20.jaredhk.com on a projector screen or TV.

  2. Students go to kahoot.it using their personal devices (or click the join game link at frc20.jaredhk.com) and enter the pin provided on the screen.

  3. Students answer questions on their own devices and a leaderboard is displayed after each round. There is time between questions to discuss, if you’d like, and to see who did well at the end plus frequently missed questions.

Try it now and let me know what you think! frc20.jaredhk.com
