Where can I find a functional description of the new joy sticks and the function of the different controls?
Thanks
Bruce
The easiest way to find out what the joystick does is simply to try it. We have done that using a PS2 controller (with USB converter) and a Rock Band wireless guitar.
Going from memory, as I do not have one in front of me to check:
Joystick axis 1 is X (side-to-side), 2 is Y (front-to-back), 3 is throttle. Axes 4, 5, and 6 are not present.
The buttons are numbered 1-11 (with the trigger being button #1). Button 12 is not present.
What more do you need to know?
I’ve gotten mixed signals about the little lever at the back of the joy stick. Some say it limits the upper end of the throttle(moving joy stick forward for throttle) and some say it limits the rate of acceleration when you move the joy stick forward.

The throttle doesn’t “do” anything by itself. You can write your program to use it for whatever you want.
One of our first LabVIEW projects was to use the left stick’s throttle to control the maximum rate of change of the drive motor outputs. Our current code uses the right stick’s throttle as a throttle.
Sorry, not a programmer. Thought there was maybe some built in function. Guess I’ll stick to the mechanicals:>)
