Control Board, joystick board, board with buttons…
Whatever you call it… 
I have noticed teams with custom buttons on custom made boards.
So far, I only know that the Attack 3 and Logitech gamepad work with controlling the robot.
Does anyone know of any other joysticks or gamepads that are supported? 
Can someone give me advice on how they made their custom board?

Any USB joystick recognized by Windows will work
We created a detailed guide for using the MSP40F5529 LaunchPad (Arduino-like board) included in the Kit of Parts last year, and First Choise this year, to create custom operator interfaces
I heard of a team taking apart an Xbox 360 fightstick (I think) and building their own, that was fixed to their driver console.
Custom boards you say? Using standard arcade buttons is the simple route which allows for quick actions on the operator’s part. I really like it when other teams experiment and deviate away from the standard flight stick and controller setup. It makes your driver station truly your own.
We bought one of these, and it works great. It looks like a standard joystick to the Driver Station. Gave us the ability to detect 14 buttons.
Those of you who remember the original Xbox might remember Steel Battalion and its custom 40 button controller complete with an eject button. Imagine the possibilities, but good luck getting your hands on one.

While I haven’t personally tried it with the FRC control system, I prefer the GroovyGameGear GPWiz 40. Recognized by Windows as a standard gamepad but you can do whatever you like with the inputs. 32 Digital Inputs!
