How did this end up on a FIRST playlist, especially since it is on the Do Not Play list.
FIRST’s core value of inclusivity should mean not playing and licensing music performed by a Nazi.

Some say RC doesn’t read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.

This is a rather culturally insensitive thing to say.

It’s an honest question. I see what Kanye does as a performing art. Was asking if it is music. No culture inference was intended and I apologize for appearing to make one.

What qualities is this song missing to be considered performance art and not music?

Kanye was on a bit of an antisemitic run lately…and that’s putting it lightly. Jay-Z hasn’t so I wouldn’t lump him in.

I fixed that, Thanks

Don’t worry, he saw Jonah Hill in 21 Jump Street and has seen the error of his ways.

It is a transcendent movie for sure.

I mean, they also played last resort, and managed to cut it right after “f**k” :stuck_out_tongue:

Kanye west himself is a jerk and perhaps some people can consider him “not a real musician” because of it, but the type of music he creates is in fact music. I mean, its sound created for purposes of enjoyment from listening and dancing to. Performance art is art meant for politely watching, it’s a completely different thing tbh

How is that culturally insensitive?

I interpreted it as a light hearted jab from someone who probably doesn’t like/listen to that type of music.

Its not culturally insensitive to have a opinion on a genre of music. I personally dont like country but doesnt mean I am being culturally insensitive because I crack a joke about it.

There are far more real and pressing issues involving cultural insensitivity. Disliking a type of music is not one of them.

He didn’t say that he didn’t like it, he said that it isn’t music. It’s totally fine to not like a genre but to say that it isn’t music is an entirely different thing.
