The teams that ended up as champions were 33, 68, and 818.
A HUGE thanks goes to Truck Town Thunder, Team 68, and the Killer Bees, Team 33. Even though we had been doing terribly during the first half of the day (21st out of 25…ouch), you still saw something in our robot. We definitely weren’t expecting to be chosen by the #1 seed. I’m proud to say that we didn’t let you down - all of the elimination matches we played in were won by our alliance. Our team won the All-Star Rookie award three times in 2002 (two regionals and Nationals), but we never fared very well in our competitions. Thanks for giving us the chance to finally succeed. And to Team 33: I hope this makes up for West Michigan.
Thanks to all of the teams that participated for making the day’s matches exciting and memorable. The competition was definitely a lot of fun, and every team who competed did a great job. Almost everyone that I saw at the event was living the ideals of FIRST, Gracious Professionalism in particular. It was great to see everyone helping each other - I can think of a few teams that might not have been able to finish the competition without the assistance of others. We were somewhat stupid and neglected to bring a battery charger. Because of other teams sharing their batteries and chargers, we were able to finish the day’s competition. Thanks to everyone who helped us out and kept our robot running.
Both are right, it was an excellent regional. I’m very glad I went. Good luck to all the teams that went and didn’t go in their regionals and/or any other invitationals you’re going to.
Hey, I guess it’s time I chime in. Let me just say, 68 and 818 were great alliances. It was a pleasure working with both of you. Having our robot on the truck was awesome! It’s nice that we could team up with you guys, this may settle a few rivalries around our school (for now at least).
I had a great time at Kettering, and it more than made up for our finals performance at the IRI. We’ll see any of you that are going at Sweet Repeat, and if not, we’ll see you next year.
Thanks to you guys for helping us get our first win with BUZZ 8 (a little late, but still nice). And thanks to Kettering University for putting on this event, we all had a great time.

Dude, I dunno who was your mascot, but when he ran around w/ the drill…that was SWEET!!! (lol, sorry…I’m still a lil’ excited about yesterday, been a while since I’ve been in a comp.)
I wish I could’ve had a chance to see your robot be in the truck, but my ride left halfway through the awards.
I should’ve added Kettering to my list. Hmph, all well.
Sweet picture. I think we have some too, but I have no idea when they’ll be up. We’re trying to get everything sorted out with our site, which is in desparate need of some TLC…which it will get soon.
