Does anyone remember back in 2015, when we had a large item, how much notice they gave us of the larger than usual volume of kit parts? It looks like last year the the dimensions were given out only 3 days prior, but there wasn’t anything outside of the ordinary veteran tote, rookie tote, drive base.
We’ll be doing a surrogate pick up, and I’m trying to work with our parent group that might be picking up ours and others kits. But if I need a parent (or 2) with a minivan or truck, I dont want to change things on them last minute.
If you’re picking up multiple kits, may as well just send a minivan. If you don’t need the space for kits, use it to transport team members to the kickoff.
I recall one year when a team showed up with a small truck… Admittedly they were picking up for a dozen teams in their area, and that meant two totes and one frame box per team back then.
I’m more concerned with the prospect of someone having to bring home the equivalent of recycle rush cans that can’t stack. I remember for 2015 they gave us some advance notice, but I dont remember how much. We may end up picking up for up to 4 teams total (3 veterans and 1 rookie), which could be anywhere from 5 totes and some drive bases to…a lot more.
ha, I was searching for the FRC blog and even sifted through all the blog posts still on firstinspires, but I didnt think to search CD for the FRC blog for some reason.
I’m glad that people essentially have back up the blog posts on CD. Because I don’t think it’s on the web anymore elsewhere.
