Kickoff Time

Does anyone know what time the kickoff video is going to start on January 4th? Our local events have a 9:30 start time, but we are going to be hosting an viewing in my classroom. Wasn’t sure what time I should have students start showing up. Thanks!

From what I remember, usually the stream starts around 10:30 EST

I called FIRST Headquarters to ask about this last week because we hold a big kickoff event at our school for about 7 teams and I didn’t want to start things at the wrong time.

I was also told that the video should go live at about 10:30 Eastern Time. 9:30 Central…etc.

I remember having a great difficulty confirming last year’s start time as well. Is the official start time anywhere on the FIRST website?

To Kickoff Coordinators:

Broadcast:
Broadcast will begin at 10:30ET – 11:30ET. We will broadcast the kickoff and then for the remaining time will view the game animation.

I believe it will “be” 10:30ET - 11:30ET rather than “begin” …

Thanks, guys! I was passively looking for it!

After the kickoff, they’ve threatened to show additional videos, I presume similar to the ones last yearwith Derek and Matt. So when the broadcast is over, don’t just shut it off.

I wait with great anticipation for the new “Check out this bump!”

Thanks guys!!!

It seems odd that FIRST hasn’t posted the webcast times, with the Kickoff just over 2 weeks away.

So I know the exact date of kickoff, but I don’t know the exact time. Does anyone know the exact time. Also I’m from LA, so it would be helpful to know the time in la, but I can figure it out otherwise.

According to the online event section most kickoff events are starting at 7am Pacific Time.

10:30am Eastern (7:30am PT in LA) - Kick Off Video begins.

thanks guys

I think that this innocently promotes attendance at a local kickoff. For a team weighing the alternatives, concrete details may tend to encourage staying home. For Example, talking a group of high school students into meeting at 6:00 to drive to an official kickoff 2 hours away, versus meeting at 10:00 at the typical team build location.

We wish we could travel to the SC regional Kickoff event, but funds are very tight this year & we’d rather save the money for traveling to regional competitions in the spring.

I’m sure there are thousands of parents, family members, former FIRST students & others who would like to watch the webcast… if they knew the start time.
