Is there a way that a robot can play the role of feeder in Reefscape considering the fact that we can’t throw Coral if we aren’t in our reefzone? From what I understand of the game, feed other robot will be the same as doing back and forth between the coral station and the reef.
I don’t think feeding will be viable in this game, especially considering that the trip from the coral station to the reef is only a few feet.
But might be usefull for alguee or just to feed a robot that scores on L4 am I wrong?
I don’t believe there’s a rule against throwing algae but throwing coral is only allowed from the reef zone. I don’t see how throwing from the reef zone would benefit anyone unless you threw coral onto the reef, which FIRST seems to have already predicted
Throwing on the reef is not forced because the supposed height limit of like 5 ft considering the L4 is at 6ft? This lead me to the conclusion that we are forced to throw it? Am I wrong?
What rule imposes a 5 ft height limit?
So if it is not the same as the height limit what is the limit? Unlimites would be clearly too overpower because you could drop the Algae instead of throwing it wich is easier no?
Your original question asked about a feeder bot. A feeder bot is a bot that collects game pieces from one piece and launches them to another area for the alliance teammates to pick up. Now, you are asking about launching the coral onto L4, which has nothing to do with feeding.
yeah sorry forgot to edit the tittle but still the height limit isn’t clear
I’ll break it down for ya.
If you don’t see a height limit, it’s a safe assumption that there isn’t one.
I don’t want to take this thread too off topic, so I’ll add a link to here where it’s being discussed. But the consensus there so far is that there isn’t a height limit.
I think you’ll find that extending 7+ feet in the air to drop the algae could present other problems, but as written it is potentially legal.
Still it is strange that they didnt put a limit no?
Not really, it’s just opening up more design opportunities for teams.
So technically we could add something to our robot that inflate for several foot of height and then do some kind of equivalent to a kiddy pool V2?
It’s your robot. Use your imagination
But is there some rule that ban the kind of inflating thing?
That would be found in the Robot section of the manual. Check what is legal to build.
Ok thanks
Yes and no.
I’m going to suggest specifically looking in detail at R804 and R801. I can think of something that might work that would be legal. Exactly what, I leave to your imagination.
Ok fine might be the most hated person of this season if i discover a way of kiddy pool V2
