Kitbot note shooting

Hey y’all! I was watching the kitbot reveal and I noticed that even though the note was touching the lower wheel before shooting, the two CIMs had enough force to shoot it pretty hard. For anyone knowledgeable about the kitbot, is the upper wheel spun up beforehand while the lower wheel acts as an indexer, or are both wheels spun up from a standstill right as the note is being shot? Thanks!

only one wheel is active at a time - the top clockwise for loading, the bottom counterclockwise for shooting

Looking at the code, the kitbot does spin up the upper wheel first before feeding the note to it.
