My team is thinking about swapping the Kraken X60s used to steer our swerve modules with X44s. Has any team done this yet (preferably with SDS Mk4s)? If so, I would be grateful if you can tell me how y’all did it and provide feedback on the results.

This post shows how we did it on our MK4C modules. Was just a 1/8" Thick plate that adapted to the Kraken X44 bolt circle. We cut the motor shafts down so we didn’t have to have the weight of the motor spacers but you could use the same plate with motor spacers.

We also used KrakenX44s as steering motors, though we did this on WCP Swerve X2t modules. They worked perfectly and were a simple drop-in replacement on the WCP modules.

We made our own top plates for the Mk4i with the right mounting pattern.

We used MK4i modules with x44s for steering and x60s for driving, and they performed well.
