We purchased 14 tooth, 32 diametral pitch (DP) kraken x60 motor gears from West Coast Products to mount on our mk4 drive modules. We, encountered an issue properly fitting these gears onto the module shafts. There seems to be a slight mismatch between the gear where it looks like its really sharp and the drive gears which isn’t sharp that is preventing the drive gear to spin, its excessively tough.
If anyone has run into this same problem could you explain on how resolved it. We don’t really have the funds to buy the actual kits off SDS right now, and they’re not in stock so we are really trying to look at some solution that anyone has tried before jumping into anything
I hope that item from WCP will work. The SDS page says the Kraken kit includes “Gear, 20DP, 14T SplineXS Bore” so that is what i ordered from WCP. Our Krakens arrived today, the gears should be here tomorrow, so I hope they work!
Looks like it might be too big, it’s 16 cd while R.C. says we need 14 cd. Do we need item 1013 rather than 1014?
I think you have the wrong gear, for the stock SDS module if it is requiring a 14T gear you will want to use any 3 of these. Pat or someone else can correct me on this one?
