Lab view licenseing Question

how many computers can I put it on?

I have scoured the pamphlets in the box and I can find no reference to how many computers I can install Lab View on:( The only thing I can determine is that we have a “Full” license, whatever that means.

Lab view’s website is no help either.

Does any one know how many computers I can install it on?

I believe that the license for FIRST teams is that any number of members of the team can install it on as many machines as they deem necessary to make its use convenient. We will not charge you for additional licenses like would be required for something like Easy C. We do ask that you keep it to members of the FIRST team only… not your uncle’s friend’s small business.

I believe this is how it is supposed to work…

Danny, please chime in and verify.

Yup, that’s exactly it. When someone purchases LabVIEW, it is technically good for only one “seat” for use on up to 3 computers. However, FIRST teams are special to us, so we’ve extended the licensing agreement for you guys to allow as many installations and seats as you need in order to allow the greatest use of the software by your team. We know how difficult it is to work with “donated” software that only allows for one or two seats, we don’t feel that’s conducive to a positive experience!! The only catch is that we ask that you only use the software for FIRST robotics - however, if you want to use it for non-FIRST projects, contact us at “frc [at] ni.com” and tell us what you want to use it for; there’s a very high likelihood we’ll extend the license for you and your team to allow you to do it (and may also extend some support for the really interesting projects!).

Thanks for replying that is good news
but do you know where it is in print/online The IT people at my school won’t install it unless they know this and not from some High school kid
thanx

Please direct your IT team to our contact e-mail address, “frc [at] ni.com”, and we will send them as official an e-mail as possible regarding our licensing policy, or we will sent it to them in print if they provide us their mailing address.
