LabVIEW Installation

I can’t find the photo again, but i will explain it for you. I would load labview up and click activate when it first displayed 30 day evaluation period. The windows then would show “no license available” next to all the programs and would not allow me to run them.
I have also been wondering about this. I had originally brought the classmate home with me one day to install labview because i had a external HDD. I had copied the contents of the KOP labview cd onto this HDD. I have been trying to install labview onto this desktop i am using, using the contents from the HDD. Is this causing the problem? Do i need to use the KOP cd?

At some point, Labview will ask you if you want to activate your copy. You need an internet connection and then you need to activate the software. Then you should be able to run Labview

I understand that. I entered the serial L13R02200 during the installation and it didn’t solve anything.

I can speculate one thing that may be happening. You are trying to license before you have installed the update. Here is what I would try:

  1. Uninstall all NI software.
  2. Remove all license files. These are *.lic or *.lc files and should be located in a path similar to: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\License Manager\Licenses…
  3. Install Everything from the NI DVD in the kit - do not enter the L13R02200 when you do this. Don’t license anything at this point.
  4. Download and install the latest FRC LabVIEW update (3.1) from http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2261 Use the L13R02200 serial number when you install this update.

Thanks for the reply. I am reinstalling it now. Will let you know how it goes

Doug,
For step number 4, is the installer supposed to ask me to enter the serial number, or am i supposed to activate before installing the update? Just want to make sure.

Thanks

Enter the serial number during Step 4. Do not activate before the update.
