Team 503 - Frog Force is pleased to announce a series of 3 sessions for basic LabVIEW training, and invites any interested 2009 FRC students and mentors to participate. The hands-on workshops will be held at Novi High School on Sept 27, Oct 4 and Oct 11 (Saturdays). The course is the standard Labview Basics I course, taught by a certified National Instruments instructor. A limited number of spaces are available; please visit http://www.frogforce503.org/?q=node/291 for more information.
Team 862 is planning on attending. Still working out who.
Are pre-rookie teams welcome to attend? If yes, how can we as a pre-rookie team get LabVIEW 8.5 since we do not have the 2008 KOP?
You can download (or request a CD) for a 30 day trial from here: What is NI LabVIEW? Graphical Programming for Test & Measurement - NI
Rookie teams are more than welcome!!
The instructor recommends that teams download the latest evaluation copy (or request the CD this week, to allow time for shipping) from www.ni.com/trylabview. The material covered will be good for any 8.x version of LabVIEW.
Also, NI is working on a general “FIRST” serial number that all teams can use for activation. This may be available at the training sessions in Novi.
Registration for this event will close Wednesday, Sept 24, in order to be sure we have all the necessary equipment to support all those computers (we’re keeping the school electrician busy). A confirmation email will be sent out on Thursday.
We have seemed to have misplaced our Labview CD from last years KOP. Does anyone know where we can get a replacement or a key to unlock the evaluation copy?
For those who may have missed the class, It’s not too late to learn LabVIEW for free at Novi High School (sponsored by Team 503, Frog Force)
Go here to download the course agenda, exercises & slides from Day 1: http://www.frogforce503.org/?q=node/306 . There will be a short catch-up presentation geared towards those with no prior exposure to LabVIEW at 8:00am with the regular class starting at 8:30am. Please plan on setting up by 7:45am if you want to attend the catch-up lecture. More information about the class in general: http://www.frogforce503.org/?q=node/291 (ignore registration info).
