Team 1756 is proud to present at LabView YouTube tutorial series. Over the past 5 years I have been teaching students how to program LabView. We have tried many different methods from challenges to programing video games but nothing ever seems to get the kid super excited about programing. We found what does get students excited is programing the main robot. However this creates a problem since they are large, expensive, dangers and very hard to take home with you. So we started to use small cheap LabView based robots to teach the students. Their engagement and programing skills skyrocketed since each student could have their own robot and instantly get feedback when testing there code. With this new method we were able to take a student with no programing background and have them write simple drive code and be safely driving a robot around within 30 min. Now that the students could take the robot home we needed a method to teach them at home. This is where are YouTube series came in. We have tried to create them so you learn a little bit more each tutorial. They start out very basic and slowly increase the difficulty. The great thing about this is since it is programed in LabView you can take any code developed on the small robot and place it on your main robot with no conversion.
