Last Anvil 2024 - Product Release & Shop Opening

Good questions, let me follow up with our team to get a definite answer!

I have the opposite problem, FedEx can’t figure out how to deliver things to my address (UPS, USPS, DHL, and Amazon all figure it out just fine though) and I always end up picking them up. :sob:

I live in the middle of nowhere and everyone but FedEx can figure it out, most of my personal deliveries at this point get sent to the robotics shop :joy:

I spoke with our distribution team.

At the moment, with the way our goods are stored, it would be difficult to do onsite pickup.

However, if you are ever in a particular rush or emergency, we are happy to do our best to personally deliver the items.

As a quick follow up, we are still discussing this question.

If you set up a personal FedEx account (no billing info attached, just tied to your address) they have a section to add special delivery instructions for that address, but seems to depend on the driver if they read it or not.

I have done this, they either don’t read it or don’t care.

After speaking with our team, we are going to open up a FedEx option for teams to choose from!

However, I should note that it will be on a trial basis to ensure that our local FedEx can provide the proper reliability that teams need.

The option should appear later today or sometime this weekend.

Update 8/216: It has been a while since our last actual update. We have been hard at work finalizing our fall lineup as well as organizing the information garnered from our awesome Product Testing Teams (Team Anvil).

New Offering

With that being said, we are pleased to announce one new offering - HTD Belts (9mm) that range from 35T to 90T!

We wanted to include this offering because it allows teams to bundle, purchasing belts and pulleys at the same time.

Additionally, we wanted to take it a step further and provide extra value to teams, so we implemented a progressive discount system. For every belt purchased regardless of size, the unit cost will drop up to 50%.

Notably, it is a linear scale, so although the chart above indicates specific ranges, the discount always increases up to 28 belts.

We are excited about this discount system, so we hope it will help improve affordability for teams.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Do you plan to offer 15mm belts?

It is definitely under consideration!

Have you guys considered selling double sided HTD belts? They are becoming a much more popular method of reversing direction on multiple rollers on a mechanism

We hadn’t, so this is a good call-out! We will look into it. Are there any sizes that are particularly prevalent in use?

Typically these belts are used to power multiple mechanisms or several rollers. So they are naturally going to be pretty long. We are using a 750-D5M-09 (150t) on our amp mechanism and a 1380-D5M-09 (276t) on our flywheels. We could have made it work with slightly different sizes. But those are the ones Zoro had in stock. So if I had to guess, maybe in the 100-300 range. And maybe in 20t increments would be ok?

IMO, more single-sided belt sizes would probably be more valuable to a larger market. Not that I’m against having double-sided too, it’s just that the trouble with belts in general is that you’ll very quickly find yourself with a LOT of SKUs to stock if you’re not careful, and even then I still find myself going to Vbeltguys to get some odd-ball size that none of the FRC vendors carry from time to time.

Do you have part numbers for your belts? I am trying to help someone with ordering belts, and it would be nice to have. But it is not needed bc you have your links as custom.

If you look at their belt page, selecting any belt changes the six digit part number above the price. It also changes the URLs “variant” field for easy linking.

That said, belts of the same size are also typically identified by their lengths in mm as a universal standard. In the case of these 9mm wide, 5mm pitch HTD belts, they would be identified as “x-5M-09” where “x” is the length in mm.

Oops did not see that, maybe “Part number:” could be added for extra clarity :person_shrugging:

Example:

Part number: 123456

Good idea! We’ll see what we can do on that front to make it more clear.

Also, you should be able to build a cart and share it as opposed to having to translate over the product numbers.
