Last time a rookie team won a championship?

Actually can someone provide a list of every rookie championship win?

Well technically we did… In 1992

100 did a year or two later.

A few others have come close, including Einstein appearances, but I can’t think of too many since then. Maybe 1 in the last 3 years or so?

100 in 1995 is the last rookie to win, looking at TBA. 1994 had 144 winning, which was a rookie, but 100 is the last team to win champs as a rookie.

So only 92-95 had rookie winners?

1992: 126
1993: 148
1994: 144
1995: 100

1993 didn’t as I recall.

'92 (126), '94 (144), and '95 (100). '93 had a '92 rookie. (148)

Ah I see thank you

This makes me wonder how many second year teams have won?

More generally what does the full distribution look like? A graph with x-axis being the number of years in FRC and y-axis being number of world champions that won while in that year would be neat to see.

Not a win, but 4334 got to Einstein Semifinals their rookie year.

2753 and another team did the same in '09.

2012 is a… er… let’s go with 4334 could have won, if the wireless hadn’t been going all over the place…

Here’s what I got from 10 minutes of python. Data is from TBA so it’s missing 1992-2001

Wasn’t 71 a second year team when they won in 97?

I know winning champs as a rookie team has happened in VEX/FTC well after the initial 2-3 seasons.

TBA has champs awards from 1992
