I buyed this led ring: https://www.andymark.com/products/led-ring-green and I’m wondering how to wire it to my robot. I connected it to the VRM in the 12V/500aM and it didn’t turn it on.
Powering that ring light via the 12V/500mA port on the VRM should work. Make sure you have all of your positives and negatives connected correctly, and that the VRM is getting power. If all of that is right, maybe post a picture and we can try to see where the problem is.
Making sure, the red cooper cable is the positive and the gray one is the negative.
Make sure the VRM is working. There should be a green led. Also you should measure the voltage with a multimeter
I’m pretty sure we powered that through our PCM one year. This allowed us to turn it on and off when needed.
I’m unsure what the polarity is on those, I’d assume that’s right, but there shouldn’t be any harm in reversing them to check. LEDs are Diodes, so they can handle and block the reverse voltage @ 12v.
Oh okay, the PCM method to turn it on and off is very interesting.
