Has anyone else created a lift which supported significant torque around the lift axis, and if so, how did you do it, and how did that work out for you?
My friends’ [non-FRC] problem: augering holes (~2" diameter, 18-24" deep) for fertilizing and other root treatment for their “forest”. They’re retired, and aren’t up to drilling enough holes for the task with a hand drill. I have a viable drive train (3-wheel with two driven and the third a trailing caster, similar to a boe-bot or a forklift) which will be large/heavy enough to resist 300lb-in (38 N-m) of torque on moderately slippery (µ≥½) ground. I have a few designs in mind for the lift, but I’m certain there’s a better one. OBTW, I do intend to share the plans with CD towards the end of the project.
