Lime Light can't be imaged "driver missing"

I’m getting the “driver missing” message when I try to image my limelight. I’ve installed the rpiboot app. Running it doesn’t seem to do anything.

Does a drive called boot show up in windows explorer? If not, then the limelight isn’t being recognized. Try unplugging/replugging, rebooting things and such?

No such drive shows up in window explorer. I’ve rebooted my PC several times, my understanding is the limelight should be removed from direct power and only powered via the microUSB when flashing.

That should be correct. I’ve had better success on Linux/Mac computers, funny enough. Otherwise if you’ve installed rpiboot I’m not sure what to try, beside maybe a different USB cable?

Okay I think I got it working now. Had to run the rpiboot_setup installer as administrator. (Right click the intaller, “Run as Administrator”) Must not have been installed properly before…

Glad you figured it out! If you were trying to install Photon, and wanna make a note in our docs in case other teams have the same issue, feel free to open a PR to our docs page

I’ve been having the same problem. I’ve downloaded everything needed but the rpiboot_setup is not downloading properly. Every time I’ve downloaded the installer, it continues to say this

I’ve tried downloading it several times and reporting that the download is safe. I’m not sure on what to do next

You’ll need to go the folder where you downloaded it and run it from there. Your browser is trying to protect you from running a file that it can’t verify is safe.

Found the issue, had to change from Microsoft edge to opera gx
