Limelight 3 Connection Problems

We are using the Limelight 3. We have 2 of these limelights and one we can connect to when connected to the robot or directly to the computer (in flashing mode). The other limelight (that does not work) turns on but we cannot find it when connected to the robot or when we try to flash it.

We have tried the following:

  • Changing the wires and how it is connected
  • Using the limelight finder
  • ssh and ftp into the rio and trying to find it
  • pinging from the computer
  • connecting directly to the computer
  • connecting directly to the computer in flash mode

I have a suspension that the limelight is fried because the other works and we did the same to each ecept somone wired this one wrong one time before we fixed it.

Update: The boot sequence (lights and fan) works on the limelight. We are also currently now contacting Limelight support.

Update: The lime light does not fully boot and flash the green front light. It does not change into the top green light flashing and the orange off for static ip.

Update: We just tapped the ethernet port against the table and it started working.

Any way we can make the limelight more reliable because it sometimes does not work and requires us to tap it against the table again.
