Limelight 3 mount

Anyone have a limelight 3 mount for 3d printing? I have not been able to find one.

Thank you

I can’t find one anywhere but I’d be happy to make a quick one in CAD for you if you’d like! :grinning: Are there any specific dimensions or mounting requirements I should be aware of?

We ran a 3D printed mount on our 2023 competition robot, check out the CAD for the two versions we had depending on the side of the robot we wanted (changed the side mid season). Both brackets hold the limelight at at 60° angle. Left Side Mount and Right Side Mount Fusion 360 files.

I don’t have the file, but I can find it. I have two designs that fit both the limelight two and three. Both options allow you to adjust the angle to your preference…

this next one may be not easy to see, but you can attach it to the side of a tube.image

Here is a 90 degree mount that I just put together, it should be able to attach to both REV MAXTube and the Andymark kit drivetrain front end. Just a heads up, I have no immediate access to a LL3 or 3d printer so I can not promise that this part works, although all of the holes and clearances work in cad and are dimensioned to the specs provided by Limelight, REV, and Andymark.

Here is an onshape link so you can take a look and export/modify it:

Were you able to find the file for the top 3d print? That seems like a great way of mounting it.

I was able to locate the mount you were referring to. We used it during both competitions and didn’t encounter any issues. The mount allows you to adjust the angle by 15 degrees and is compatible with both Limelight two and three. It works best when attached to a piece of Max tubing, but can be easily attached to anything since the spacing between the middle hole and any of the outer ones is 1 inch. Using all 10-32 hardware. Here is the STL of the part.

If the first design doesn’t work for you, or for applications where you can’t fit it over a piece of Max tubing, you can use this alternate design. Please note that you will need to press fit a 10-32 nut in the middle, and be very careful when doing so to avoid cracking the PLA. Here is the STL.

Both of the designs were printed using PLA filament. If you have any questions or encounter any problems while printing, feel free to contact me. In case you decide to use these designs, please give credit to Team 93 as it would be highly appreciated. I hope that these designs will be helpful to you in mounting your limelight.

I’d really like to use this Limelightmountv4 in my Onshape doc. Would you be able to provide a STEP file for it please?

Here’s a mount that I made for the red limelight holder so that it can be mounted on a horizontal bar. My CAD skills are pretty bad, but I 3d printed one and it seems to fit fine. If anyone wants to modify and actually make the holes on the bottom evenly spaced, feel free. Limelight 3 mount pt2.
