We just solved two Limelight problems and I figured I’d mention it here so others searching could find reference.
First, we had trouble imaging. We imaged one of our LLs, but only after trying multiple computers. Couldn’t image the other one. The problem was a micro usb cable gone bad; one of the pins made very intermittent contact. Got a better cable and problem solved.
Second, we were bit by a surprisingly consistent variant of the second radio port problem (which is well described here: Second radio port analysis.
What’s surprising is that every time this has bit us before, it was flaky. A power cycle would usually get us going again. But with our shiny new limelight 3, it failed very maddeningly. We could get to the LL browser page, but nothing propagated to network tables. We installed a switch and the problem vanished.
