Limelight Off Robot

Anyone know of a way I can use the limelight off the robot? Getting our first one today and would need to test it away from the robot.

  1. Give it power (passive POE, or through the power terminals on the bottom)
  2. Connect ethernet cable between it and a PC
  3. Use Limelight Finder tool to discover it (no, you shouldn’t need static IPs setup, but it might help. If going static, make sure you update the limelight IP first!)
  4. Connect via web UI
  5. Configure desired settings
  6. …
  7. Profit!

I made a thread about

NOTE: When you get to the step that says “Access the limelight.local:5801 page”, you should have the LL connected to the Robot’s RADIO by Ethernet. The robot can be connected over WiFi or Ethernet to roborio

I cannot give it power without the robot though… I was wondering if I can work with it while at home.

Sure you can. Any 12V DC source is fine.

I personally have a 12V 2A “wall wart” adapter from GoodWill that I cut the end off of. I use it as a CSA for powering roborios in spare parts. Just make sure you get the polarity correct

Interesting! I’ll give that a try, I should have on lying around and I would need to dig for my wirestrippers. I thought it wouldn’t work but I’ll give it a try!
