Anyone know of a way I can use the limelight off the robot? Getting our first one today and would need to test it away from the robot.

- Give it power (passive POE, or through the power terminals on the bottom)
- Connect ethernet cable between it and a PC
- Use Limelight Finder tool to discover it (no, you shouldn’t need static IPs setup, but it might help. If going static, make sure you update the limelight IP first!)
- Connect via web UI
- Configure desired settings
- …
- Profit!
I made a thread about
NOTE: When you get to the step that says “Access the limelight.local:5801
page”, you should have the LL connected to the Robot’s RADIO by Ethernet. The robot can be connected over WiFi or Ethernet to roborio
Ftfy
I cannot give it power without the robot though… I was wondering if I can work with it while at home.
Sure you can. Any 12V DC source is fine.
I personally have a 12V 2A “wall wart” adapter from GoodWill that I cut the end off of. I use it as a CSA for powering roborios in spare parts. Just make sure you get the polarity correct
Interesting! I’ll give that a try, I should have on lying around and I would need to dig for my wirestrippers. I thought it wouldn’t work but I’ll give it a try!
