We have been using a limelight 2.0 all season without issue. However today (2 days before the start of our competition) it suddenly will not power on. Nothing has changed since running it today but I cannot communicate with the Limelight. I have tried unplugging from POE and connecting via microusb on the computer but it says it needs more power than the usb can provide. Our limelight is pretty critical for our robot and I am unsure what to do. We are on the latest firmware and we are running it from a dedicated PDP port.
If you can’t figure anything out, we’re about 1.5 hours north of you and I think we have an old limelight 1 kicking around. Let me know and I can check.
Have you tried powering via the power ports rather than poe?
If you are in a pinch reach out to me. Belleville (your comp) is just over 10 miles from our shop. We don’t have so many we can give them away, but we do not compete until next week, so I am sure we can work something out.
It’s great to have a replacement so quickly, but I, and probably others, would like to know what happened and is it fixable. Please let us know what you find out from LImeLight support
I had the same thing happen with a GloWorm. While it is a different product, to see something similar happen to the LL is disconcerting.
I’m still unsure how this occurred. We had been running it the same way all this season and the entire 2020 season. Everything was wired as described in the getting started guide (POE powered off of pdp port, 20A breaker). It just sucks that it happened so close to our competition.
