The limelight’s have been out of stock on WCP for a long time. Does anyone know if/when they’re going to be restocked?

We spend 12 years trying to get vision working.
Turns out all we needed was 1 afternoon with a limelight and we had full spline drive to Target and hold distance ( The vet mentors were in stunned silence) .
I agree best money we have ever spent in FRC

If you’re looking for an alternative that’s a lot cheaper, get a Pi 4, an SD card, a ring light, and either a Logitech HD 3000 camera or a PS3 Eye camera, install Chameleon Vision, and you’ll have a very similar product.

Not even that, they have a different camera system they’ve been working on. But it hasn’t proven to be as effective as teams using a limelight.
Do you know if you will ever do a pre-order list instead of only opening up orders when it comes in stock. The mad dash to buy when they become available for half a day feels frustrating
We will have to ask the folks @ LL. I will shoot them an email and see what they’d like to do.
We normally allow backorders/pre orders for all our products.

Can you just make and stock way more? It seems like the demand is huge, even in the post-season. Every year they’ve been available; there’s been a shortage.
As I understood it WCP is just a reseller (as is AndyMark). You’d have to ask the folks at Limelight to build more, and I believe they mentioned in one of the threads a month or two ago that they had much higher than expected non-FRC orders that threw off their demand projections (I’ll try to link to that post later).

I mean, having a preorder list just moves that mad dash to a predictable time (which could also be done just by opening up orders at a scheduled time). We saw how that worked with the Falcon motors, where even though Vex can support the massive demand for the motors, there was a significant difference in ship time if you ordered immediately after orders opened to even 3 minutes after that time.

Yes we did, which is why Limelight should not offer pre-orders either. You end up with just as many people angry they don’t have the thing, except now they also don’t have the money!
Limelight could take a reduced down payment maybe. That would give them a good sense of continuing demand, and wouldn’t leave them with giant amounts of “unearned revenue” on their balance sheets

I’ve been on the notify list at Limelight proper for a few months now. Now that it’s after kickoff, our team may have to go for another vision solution. I’m just afraid that even after notification, we’ll be out of luck on purchase.

Edit: might be unclear but what I meant to say was https://limelightvision.io/ is currently out of stock for the LL2+ but WCP (link above) is currently in stock

We haven’t hit our “preorder” limit yet. So its still available to order.
Is ordering the LL2+ from WCP right now a preorder, or do you have them in stock already and are working on shipping? The product page does not mention anything about it being a preorder which is a bit misleading or confusing, since you said above you haven’t hit your “preorder” limit. “Availability: In Stock” implies you have it at your facility ready to ship, so just trying to make sure I’m clear on what in stock means on the site.
