Linear Actuators

Can my team use linear actuators that are not sold by AndyMark?

Yes. You will need to adhere to the COTS cost and motor rules. You can also make one using a legal motor, gearbox, and leadscrew.

In case you want to use a door lock actuator: https://frc-qa.firstinspires.org/Question/642/does-an-actuator-with-an-included-motor-sold-as-a-door-lock-actuator-meet-the-definition-of-select-automotive-motors-per-r29-sample-http-www-amazon-com-dp-b0088ye6yq

There are no restrictions on what linear actuators you can use. However, there ARE restrictions on what motors can power those linear actuators. If the motor in the linear actuator isn’t on the list in R29, you’ll need to replace it with a motor from that list (and how you do that is up to you).
