Local Internet access

I found a couple of threads addressing this but they’re a couple years old, just wondering how technology and pricing has advanced since then. The building where our design and build facility is located is being sold to a different property owner (from Intergraph, a technology company who has sponsored us to a general property management company). Intergraph has provided us with guest internet wireless access, but over the summer they pulled all of their IT wiring from the building and we no longer have internet. We’ve checked with the other tenants in the building and no one can provide us with wireless access.

The school system gets it’s internet access through the Alabama Supercomputer Authority so we can’t really tag on to them. I’m investigating MIFI options - anyone have good or bad experiences and which type of pricing plans work best? We have 6 months where we don’t really require it at all (we could get by using our phone hotspots on occasion), a couple of preseason months of light usage, and 4 months of pretty heavy usage.

If you’re going the MiFi route, buy a used one and go month to month as a +1 on someone’s existing account. This will let you turn it off when you don’t need it.

Is there a neighbor that has internet access who would be interested in donating? The flying club I’m in connects our hangar network with a nearby business using something like this to run a bridge to their network.
