I want to send a big thank you to Allen, Strake Jesuit, and Spectrum for hosting our event this weekend. Many of us are new to the idea of not having GRB for our season event and yet it was still just as much fun and exciting. You guys are marvelous and your efforts are greatly appreciated! I know how tired I was on the drive home so I can only imagine how tired you are.
Thank you to Paradox for selecting 2582 as your alliance partners in elims. We put up one heck of a fight and could not be happier with our performance on the field.
Thank you to the Judges for honoring us with the Excellence in Engineering Award. After a pretty long dry spell to be recognized in such a way has really lit a fire under my team to push harder and strive for more.
Lastly, as a testament to what we all do in FIRST. Mentors, volunteers, judges, and teams I want you to know that we all worked together to inspire one little girl who attended LSCR this weekend. The 4th grade cousin of one of our new team members attended on Saturday to watch us compete. She was devastated when we lost in semis (cried her eyes out as a matter of fact) …but…she had so much fun and was so excited about it all that she went home and has written a letter to her teacher and school principal asking permission to start a robotics team at her school. The letter was delivered yesterday and when I can find out what school she is attending I will contact a FIRST team in that area to help her in her quest. That’s the whole point of what we do isn’t it?
You guys are all incredible and I am proud to be part of such a phenomenal group of teams and people.
