**Hey everyone,
Who is going to Lonestar this year? and is anyone submitting Chairman’s here? or at Dallas? **
Team 2582 Lufkin PantherBots will be at LoneStar again in 2010!
Team KAOS will be at Lone Star and Dallas. Haven’t decided yet where we will present.
Team 624 will be at Lonestar and St. Louis and is planning to enter a Chairman’s submission at Lonestar.
Team 2583 will be going.
We will be there, of course, because it is only 5 minutes away from the school. This is the week people, let’s get ready to compete!
Lone star this year will have 66 teams, all but one from Texas. The lone exception is Team Combustion, 1912 from Louisiana, winners of this year’s Bayou regional chairman’s award, and top seed at that regional.
We look forward to your excellent MC work as usual again this year Kris!
Only two years ago,
Texas had 46 teams
1 regional
in 2010 ,
Texas has 104 teams,
2 regionals
in 2011
Most likely >130 teams ,
3 regionals (Central Texas ? )
Everything is getting bigger in Texas. Looking forward to Lone Star !
We have had some great history ! http://houston.txfirst.org/node/9
Just to avoid wild speculation regarding the proposed 3rd FRC event in Texas in the Central Texas Region let me inform everyone about the following.
UT - San Antonio has announced that they have put in a bid for hosting this event. I suspect that FIRST will announce this as a site at the World Championship event as they typically announce new tournament sites during that time. UTSA staff attended the Dallas Regional tournament and will also attend the Lone Star tournament this week.
To add to Andrew L’s post let me include the following FTC numbers:
2007 17 teams one Championship tournament
2008 53 teams two Championship tournaments
2009 84 teams two Championship tournaments
The potential of the Texas Workforce Commission grants of adding many more FTC teams, we are going to need to develop a system of qualifier events to feed into the Championship tournaments. Please contact myself or the UT-Arlington based affiliate partner if you are interested in creating a FTC team or possibly hosting a FTC qualifier event.
Somebody else will have to post regarding the growth of FLL. Currently 4 championship tournaments with xxx number of teams in each.
Team 1477, Texas Torque, is excited and looking forward to being at the Lone Star Regional.
Here is an unofficial scouting list based of videos & scoring. Some of these rankings are based on team history. Teams that have not played yet are obviously at a disadvantage on this list.

2010 LSR - Predicted Rankings **
Please offer suggestions or comments to the LSR Scouting predictions.
Pretty good estimations I think Andrew. Of course that just rounds out the top 50%, but it’s a good start. It’s going to be fun the next few days!
I would love to see how the other 36 teams rank but I don’t know enough information to rank those teams yet.
We will just have to wait until tomorrow !
Here is another list with no particular order ,
Top 10 Chairman’s Teams:
(that will be submitting)
118 - Robonauts
418 - LASA
441 - Reagan Robotics
624 - CRyptonite
922 - ULTIMATE
1429 - Kaos
1477 - Texas Torque
2158 - AusTin Cans
2468 - Appreciate
2587 - DiscoBots
I dunno Andrew…don’t you think ascending by team number is an order?
Unfortunately, team 1477 will not be presenting this year. I think they will gear up for next year.
Have we established that there will be a webcast for Lone Star?
Looks like they have the webcast link posted now.
