Still looking for a non-FIRST partner for the CDI. I thought we had one, but they had to back out. I have made several calls to no avail yet. If any of you know of a school that needs a FIRST partner, please let me know. I have a terrific group of kids this year, who have worked pretty hard fundraising to participate in the best local event of the year. This will be my 3rd year with FIRST, and I have a new and hopefully long-term sponsor, Ford Motor Co. Yep, Ford has finally decided to jump in with both feet and go head to head with GM, Daimler Chrysler, Delphi, Motorola, NASA, etc. We really don’t want to miss out on this because we couldn’t find another team in time. My team is the International Academy, a PUBLIC High School, a consortium which is comprised of 13 school districts in Oakland County. These kids are hard working and committed to FIRST. Look around if you can and help us out. Thanks.

Sue,

Have you tried some of the non-public schools near you?

Roper in Birmingham should be ripe for this kind of thing.

Notre Dame Prep in Pontiac might be interested.

Bishop Foley in Clawson and Shrine High in Royal Oak might try it.

Detroit Country Day? It is worth a try.

Brother Rice in Bloomfield Hills

Don’t stop at the nearest high schools to yours. Are we rabid FIRST-O-HALICS or are we not?

You can do it.

Hey Joe,

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually, I did try Notre Dame. Twice. Won’t call me back. I’ll try the others on your list. BTW, I have already mailed my check for registration! Don’t want my kids to miss this… It’s too much fun. Thanks again.
