Ahoy -
Any FIRST certified FTAs who could cover an event in CT in October?
The event is the Bash at the Beach, held in Old Lyme, CT - home of Team 236.
Set up is the FRI afternoon/evening before.
Folks are welcome to bunk at our house.
Let me know via PM or this thread if you are able to help.
Happy September - Vince
I’m not an FTA but my team was interested in doing Bash at the Beach this year. Is there any place where there is more info about the event?
Same, this is the first I’ve seen a date confirmation for this year.
Also that’s an SAT day, so our team wouldn’t be able to make it. Darn. Is the 10/5 date final?
Is there a team list/registration info out yet? I can’t wait for bash at the beach!
We have an FTA!
Thanks to all who offered (via PM) to help.
To answer some of the questions…
- The OCT 5 date is official (sorry for the SAT complication, and good luck on the exams!).
- Details on the event will be posted shortly (this week?)
Looking forward to seeing folks that can make the event - Vince
So, our team usually competes at Bash at the Beach.
There was chatter at CCSU this past weekend that the event was filled. :ahh:
I have been following CD religiously so we can make this event.
Where can we sign up to compete?
Vince?
Filled? I didn’t spend very much time in the FRC track. The calendar at the ticks’ website in a big blank. I’d like to have some team members just go for the day even if they cannot compete. Maybe there’s a wait list? I’ve seen no signup or registration URLs.
We found out about it through Kathie Kentfield’s e-mails out to team leaders and leader alternates on August 13:
“Bash @ the Beach - The FRC off-season event Bash @ the Beach will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Lyme/Old Lyme High School. This is always a fun event, with a beach theme, and a great opportunity for teams to try out new drivers! We welcome our pre-rookie teams to send a crew to observe or join another team for the day! Doors open at 7:30; closing ceremonies at 4:30. To register contact Mike Gentry, [email protected]. Details will be available soon at www.batb.us.”
