The Northern California Regional Planning Committee is excited to announce that we are looking to bring back the Bay Area Analysis Desk for the 2025 FRC Season!
The Analysis Desk was a segment we trialed at the East Bay Regional and Sunset Showdown this past year, focusing on highlighting all the superstars, underdogs, and everyone in between. We are hopeful that we will be able to run the segment at three regionals this year - Pinnacles, Silicon Valley, and East Bay.
The Planning Committee is looking for adult volunteers (post-high school) to assist with the following roles:

Analysts: These people are the face of the Desk, knowledgeable about the California region (particularly NorCal) and are able to convey both FRC and strategy to an audience with a range of FRC understanding (think grandparents to FRC diehards). Analysts will be responsible for conducting post-match reviews, pre-match highlights, and interviews with students and mentors throughout the course of the event.

Producers: Producers are responsible for managing transitions between different scenes (main camera view of the Desk, computer view of the replays/strategy board, team photo previews, etc.) They will work with the AV crew to make sure that all of the digital materials are appearing properly on the main stream.

Showrunners: This person will help direct both the Producer and the Analysts, managing time between matches and keeping the Desk from running behind or holding up the next match. They may assist with coordinating the Desk with the rest of the event staff, acting as a liaison between the two groups.
While we are looking for individualized positions, we may call on all Analysis Desk volunteers to assist with each aspect. This product only works in parallel with the rest of the event, so we need many hands to keep it moving along on the side!
